An important feature of the AUTOMAT biomass wood pellet boilers is the automatic fuelling system, the large external fuel container and the cinder removal system. The biomass pellets, is automatically moved into the boiler by means of the FEEDLAN system. The boilers are capable of operating for several days or even weeks under remote control.
According to fuel categories,the Automat boilers are available in biomass versions. According to operation modes, there are hot water(3bar 95°C) and steam versions (Steam 0,5bar 115 °C).
The ash content of different fuels can be up to 20%!! With separate hot exchanger it also provides domestic hot water. For the installation need standard chimney.

Automat BIO type are hot water (3bar 95°C) wood pellet boilers.

Automat BIO Steam -- AS type dimesions and fuel handling is same as the hot water type. Instrumentation for 0,5bar 115°C steam.

The CARBOROBOT BIO Automat type of boilers are exremely suitable for heating blocks, flats, workshops, greenhouses, and industrial plants, in every application, where continuous, regulated, automatic heating is necessary. Hence CARBOROBOT replaces oil and gas boilers with similar capacity. The boiler is also suitable for central heating.

Thermal efficiency of the CARBOROBOT Automat 85-90% and the nominal output power given with the fuel 17MJ/kg(4000kcal/kg) depend on the fuel quality. The boilers operate with full power, without any attention. The period for autonomous operation depends on both, the boiler type and the fuel type. With better quality fuels, the boilers operate longer without re-filling or cinder removal. If the heat output demand is reduced, the period for autonomous operation is also lengthened. Fuel is forwarded onto a rotating grate where it is burnt under automatic control. Heating water is warmed up by the hot flue gas trough a heat exchanger. With separate hot exchanger it also provides domestic hot water.

The boiler is mounted with a multicyclone filter, a flue gas fan, and a feeder system, all operating under electronic control. The feeder system is controlled by the microprocessor which is able to controll all other function of the boiler. In case of malfunctioning, the processor can send SMS messages by the GSM network. In ordert to operate with different fuel qualities, an agitator system is provided in the BIO versions. This is located in the fuel container.

The installation has to be carried out following the relevant technical and local regulations. In closed heating systems a safety walve max.3bar is necessary. To use buffer accumulator not necessary. The Steam type have own safety valve(0,5bar).

The boiler operates in a switched-mode fashion, i.e. it is either on or off. This is controlled by the room, or the water thermostat. When the required temperature is reached, the fan stops and the output power is rapidly reduced to 3-5% of the nominal value. The fire does not go out even with several hours of waiting, hence there is no need for a re-ignition unit. When the boiler switches back on, the full power is reached within a few minutes.
A standard flue is adequate for these boilers. Try to avoid using oversized flue as this might cause too high power in standby mode, i.e. when the fan is off. Should this still occur, it is possible retrofit a draft regulator which reduces the flue size. Different programs and control requirements can be implemented with an extra unit.

The quoted pellet consumption per hour values refer to continuous operation. When heat output is not required and the boiler stops, the fuel consumption becomes negligible. The fuel consumption is essentially determined by the required energy output. Experience shows, that approximately 2kg pellets correspond to 1 m3 of natural gas energy. In our climate, an avarage heating season lasts about 1000 hours in a typical building; this can be used to estimate the required fuel quantity.

The boiler can be used with all kind of pipework, water pumps or heat exchanger. In order to avoid corrosion, keep the return water temperature high, it should be typically 60-70°C. Use a mixing valve to ensure this.

CARBOROBOT and FEEDLAN system complement each other and possible to free compose different installation. The size and direction of feeder augers and the size of the fuel Bins can be changed in wide range.
